About
Adam Hirny graduated from the Warsaw School of Economics in Poland with a Master’s degree in Finance and Banking, and completed postgraduate studies in renewables in business at the Warsaw University of Technology Business School. He began his career at Citibank Poland, where he was responsible for implementing innovations and later for developing loan products for micro companies.
In January 2009, he joined Fortis Bank Polska SA (later BNP Paribas Bank Polska SA), where he was responsible for developing financial products for SME clients in cooperation with supranational and domestic development banks. At BNP Paribas, he launched and managed several sustainable development facilities for SMEs, including PolSEFF, Green Initiative and the Loan for Technology Innovations. In 2013, he became a member of the innovation centre, focusing on the identification and implementation of innovative initiatives within the bank.
In July 2018, he was appointed Director of the Financial Institutions and Sustainable Development Programme Bureau, responsible for creating and further developing sustainable facilities, green financing, and cooperation with domestic and international institutions. In October 2020, he joined the Sustainability Council at BNP Paribas Bank Polska SA, which brings together the bank’s climate-related actions. He is currently Head of the Sustainable Business Development Department, which provides internal technical energy expertise and develops financial mechanisms supporting the energy transition.
